Ravindra Jadeja played a massive role for India in the first Test. The all-rounder contributed equally well with bat and ball and gave his team a chance to win. However, his efforts went in vain as Indis suffered a disappointing 28-run loss at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad to go 1-0 down in the series.

Ravindra Jadeja picked three wickets in the first innings and then oozed his class with the bat. The all-rounder was the highest run-getter for the team in the first innings and ended with a score of 87 runs. In the second innings, he bagged two wickets but couldn’t set the stage on fire with the bat. He got run out, thanks to the brilliance of Ben Stokes on the field.

After Ravindra Jadeja was ruled out of the second Test against England, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) named his replacement immediately. The governing body added Washington Sundar and Saurabh Kumar into the mix for the second Test. It remains to be seen who will replace him in the XI.

Ravindra Jadeja likely to miss the third Test against England- Reports

Ravindra Jadeja’s recovery might take up more time than expected. As per the reports in Cricbuzz, it is learned that the all-rounder might miss the third Test against England as well, slated to take place from 15th February at his hometown in Rajkot.

The reports claimed that Ravindra Jadeja might be taking four to eight weeks to heal, which usually is the recovery time for a hamstring injury. The all-rounder could be out of action for an extended period of time and clouds could hover over his availability for even the fourth Test.

As per the reports, if Ravindra Jadeja gets fit for the fourth Test in Ranchi from February 23 to 27, it will be remarkable. His absence will leave a massive void in the team for the next two Tests. Especially, with India 1-0 down in the series, he would’ve been crucial for the team. His unavailability surely will hamper the combination of the team.
