South Africa National Cricket Team suffered a massive blow amid the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2025 clash against England National Cricket Team. Stand-in skipper Aiden Markram faced a hamstring injury during the game, which is underway at the National Stadium in Karachi.

Aiden Markram experienced discomfort in his right hamstring after he attempted to save the boundary with a tremendous diving save at mid-off. The stand-in skipper of the team then went off the field and it was expected that he would return soon on the ground.

But his injury turned out to be worse than expected, as Aiden Markram won't be taking the field anymore in the game. The right-hander has been asked not to take the ground as a precaution, especially with the semi-final of the ICC Champions 2025 around the corner.

As a precaution, he will not field for the remainder of the innings and will bat only if required - CSA Statement on Aiden Markram

Aiden Markram, however, will be coming to bat only if required. In his absence, Heinrich Klaasen will be taking over the charge of the team for the remainder of the game. Cricket South Africa released the official statement on the batter's fitness and said:

"Aiden Markram is experiencing discomfort in his right hamstring. As a precaution, he will not field for the remainder of the innings and will bat only if required. Heinrich Klaasen will captain South Africa for the rest of the match."

England got all for just 179 runs

Coming to the game, South Africa National Cricket Team had a sensational outing with the ball. They were all over the England National Cricket Team batters right from the start with all-rounders in Marco Jansen and Wiaan Mulder picking three wickets each.

For England, Joe Root was the top run-getter with 37 runs, while the rest of the batters failed to go past the 30-run mark as they got all out for just 179 runs. After their stupendous effort with the ball, South Africa National Cricket Team also qualified for the semi-final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

We were quite brilliant with our execution and plans - Keshav Maharaj

Keshav Maharaj, who picked two wickets, talked about the team's performance, saying that they executed their plans brilliantly. He also talked about his performance, saying that he was happy with the way he bowled. He said:

"We were quite brilliant with our execution and plans. A bit sloppy in the field, though, to be honest. I was happy with the way I bowled but the foundation was laid by the fast bowlers. We know the English batters can take the game away so that foundation was key to getting early wickets.

"Allowed me to get some flight and guile into my bowling. My first wicket was a brilliant catch, and then Livingstone’s delivery was a nice setup and came out of the hand very nicely."
