Discarded India cricketer Ishan Kishan returned to professional cricket in style in the ongoing Buchu Babu Tournament played in Tamil Nadu. After a brilliant hundred in the first innings of the match against Madhya Pradesh, Kishan produced another valuable knock in the second innings to take Jharkhand home.

Chasing a tricky target of 174 runs to win in the fourth innings of the match, Jharkhand were precariously poised at 163-8. With just 2 wickets remaining and 11 needed to win, Jharkhand captain Ishan Kishan was on strike to the left-arm spinner Akash Rajawat.

Kishan was under pressure playing his first professional match in a long time but he wasted no time and swept Rajawat for a six over deep square leg. With 5 more runs to win, the next ball turned out to be a dot.

But it was just a matter of time before he finished off the game. In the next ball, the left-hander found a perfect ball in his slot on the stumps which he launched over deep midwicket to win the game for his team.

Watch - Ishan Kishan hits two sixes in three balls to win the match for Jharkhand

It was a statement from Kishan that he is returning back to his best. However, he still needs to score runs consistently enough to stake a claim in the national team.

Ishan Kishan's match-winning hundred in the first innings

Kishan scored a brilliant hundred in the first innings for Jharkhand. The Jharkhand skipper came out to bat at No. 6 and had a clear plan to bat in an aggressive mode. He was positive right from the outset and put the bowlers under pressure straight away.

The left-handed batter was severe against all the bowlers, particularly against the spinners. He scored runs all around the ground. Kishan reached his century off just 86 balls. He was dismissed for 114 off just 107 balls and hit 5 fours and 10 sixes during his knock.

Ishan Kishan continued his form in the second innings

Kishan's six-hitting display reminded me of the brilliant talent that he has possessed all these years in domestic and international cricket. He was the lone difference in the first innings as none of the other Jharkhand batters could even cross the 40-run mark. His innings enabled Jharkhand to take a healthy first-innings lead.

Kishan did not stop here and played a valuable knock in the second innings as well. He remained unbeaten on 41 off 58 balls in the second innings and took his team home. The 26-year-old smashed 1 four and 2 sixes during his knock.
