India might have had an even Day 1 at Lord's, as the Indian bowlers took wickets at a certain interval, but the English batters also didn't step back from keeping the shape of their innings. Joe Root was the pick of the English batters, as he remained firm and ended 99 not out on the first day.
The second day seemed different for India, as the pacers ran in with the new ball and bowled beamers to dismiss the key English batters. Jasprit Bumrah got the big wicket of Ben Stokes on the second ball of the 85th over.
Watch: Jasprit Bumrah removes skipper Ben Stokes early on Day 2
Jasprit Bumrah, after being hit for a boundary by England skipper Ben Stokes in the first ball of his over, backed himself with a stunner that surprised Ben Stokes.
The ball kept low as Bumrah came in, angling in from around the wicket. The ball shaped back a little, and Stokes, in an attempt to fend it, was beaten and bowled.

Unstoppable Jasprit Bumrah at Lord's; misses hat-trick by a whisker
Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah is in his finest flow on Day 2 for India, as the world-class bowler picked 3 wickets within the first half hour of play.
England resumed their innings with Joe Root on 99* and Ben Stokes on 39*. Bumrah got rid of Stokes early as he broke through the batter's defence. This was followed by Joe Root's wicket in his next over, after the English legend scored his hundred.
Another peach of a delivery from Bumrah in the very first ball of the 87th over saw Root's stumps flying off the ground. He dismissed the batter with a similar delivery outside the off-stump, and Root went late in an attempt to drive it through covers; the ball took an edge of his bat and uprooted his middle stump.
This was not the end for Bumrah's wonder; on the morning of Day 2, he got himself a hat-trick chance as he got Chris Woakes beaten on the first ball of his innings. The England no. 8 was dismissed off the thinnest of edges, which was recognized by the slip cordon and the player at cover point.
Shubman Gill makes his first successful DRS call as a captain of the Indian side, as the ultraedge showed a clear spike, and Woakes has to walk back with the umpire reversing his decision to out.
Bumrah nearing the Lord's honour board
According to the culture of Lord's, every batter scoring a hundred here at this venue and every bowler with a five-wicket haul features on the Lord's board of honour.
Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah rested in the Edgbaston test only to make his return for India at the Lord's test. Bumrah has neared the record feat to feature on the Lord's honour board, as the great paceman has picked 4 wickets in this inning and is in quest for his 5th.
With 3 more English wickets remaining and Jasprit Bumrah taking up the ball from one end, the maestro is soon to pick another 5-wicket haul and feature along the elites on the honours board.
