Jasprit Bumrah castled Reeza Hendricks with an absolute beauty in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024 final between India and South Africa at the Kensington Oval in Barbados.

India needed a good start with the ball to get the early momentum and Jasprit Bumrah did not disappoint. The India pace spearhead struck in his very first over to give the team the much-needed early breakthrough. On the third ball of the second over, the right-arm pacer clean bowled the South Africa opener with a brilliant delivery.

It was just an unplayable delivery and Hendricks' reaction after getting out said it all. It was just a perfect outswinger from Jasprit Bumrah that completely squared up Hendricks. It was an angled delivery that moved away at the last moment. Hendricks tried to defend the ball but was completely beaten as the ball went on to hit the top of the off stump. The right-handed batsman departed after scoring 4.

Talking about the game, South Africa were on 81 for 3 after 10 overs at the time of writing this report. After Reeza's dismissal, Arshdeep Singh dismissed Aiden Markram for 4 to reduce South Africa to 12 for 2. Quinton de Kock and Tristan Stubbs then shared a 58-run stand for the third wicket to steady the ship. Axar Patel broke the stand by dismissing Stubbs for 31.

Earlier in the game, India finished their innings on 176 for 7 in the allotted 20 overs. India were reeling at 34 for 3 in the fifth over before Virat Kohli's fifty helped them recover. Kohli scored 76 runs while Axar Patel also played a good knock of 47 runs. For South Africa, Keshav Maharaj and Anrich Nortje picked up 2 wickets each.

"I was just trying to use the surface, use the breeze and luckily it paid off. The pitch started off slow, it has got better now and hopefully it will be good to chase. The catching and outfielding was good, it's something we pride ourselves on," said Maharaj after the India innings.
