Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) wicketkeeper-batter Jitesh Sharma made another bold statement ahead of the upcoming IPL 2025 match against Delhi Capitals (DC). Jitesh revealed his desire to turn M. Chinnaswamy Stadium into a true fortress, just like Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have done at Chepauk.
The Royal Challengers have started their IPL 2025 campaign on a good note. They secured victories in three of their first four games. The Rajat Patidar-led team's only loss came against the Gujarat Titans (GT) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium — a venue that hasn’t always worked in their favor in recent years in the IPL.
I Want to Break That Jinx - Jitesh Sharma
In a video posted by Royal Challengers Bengaluru on YouTube, Jitesh Sharma said that he wants to change RCB’s fortunes at home. He pointed out that the Chennai Super Kings have turned Chepauk into a fortress. Sharma added that RCB can replicate that dominance at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
“I want to break that Jinx which we are not winning on home like Chennai for Chepauk is their castle, no one can enter and win that castle, I want to build this castle for us,” Jitesh said.

The right-handed batter's standout performance came against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Stadium, where he hammered a quickfire 40 off 19 balls, playing a decisive role in RCB’s victory.
Jitesh was signed for a hefty ₹11 crore at the IPL 2025 auction, and he has justified the price tag with impactful performances so far. Notably, he had a disappointing outing with Punjab Kings in IPL 2024, scoring just 187 runs from 12 innings at an average of 17 and a strike rate of 131.69.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru are preparing to face Delhi Capitals (DC) in their next IPL 2025 match at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Thursday, April 10. Third-placed RCB will take on the Axar Patel-led team in a key fixture.

RCB will also rely on veteran batter Virat Kohli, who has an excellent record against Delhi. Kohli has scored 1,057 runs in 28 innings against DC at an average of 50.33 and a strike rate of 134.99, which includes 10 half-centuries.
Looking for their first home win of the season, RCB will aim to build on their momentum and strengthen their position in the points table with a strong showing against the Capitals.
