Jos Buttler Catch Vipraj Nigam Wicket
PC: X

Gujarat Titans pacer Prasidh Krishna is on fire with the ball in the ongoing IPL 2025 clash against Delhi Capitals at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. After claiming a big wicket of Axar Patel, Prasidh Krishna sent Vipraj Nigam packing for a golden duck on the very next ball, thanks to Jos Buttler’s mind-blowing efforts behind the stumps in Ahmedabad.

Krishna bowled a shortish delivery on middle and leg, and Vipraj Nigam attempted to back away and guide it, but he only managed to send it straight into the waiting hands of Jos Buttler behind the stumps.

Jos Buttler made an excellent diving catch to his right, sending Nigam back to the pavilion without opening his account against the Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad.

Watch Jos Buttler's brilliant wicketkeeping here:

The GT fast bowler starred with the ball against DC, finishing with the stunning spell of 4/41 in his four overs to help the hosts restrict the table toppers to 203/8 in their 20 overs in Ahmedabad. On the other hand, Mohammed Siraj, Ishant Sharma, Sai Kishore, and Arshad Khan chipped in with one wicket each against the Delhi Capitals in the ongoing IPL 2025 clash.

Notably, Delhi Capitals are one of just two teams in IPL history that had a perfect record while defending 200-plus totals, with 13 wins in 13 matches before the ongoing match against the Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad. The only other team is Mumbai Indians, who have won all 15 games when it comes to defending 200 or more runs in the Indian Premier League.

Prasidh Krishna shares his game plan after shining with the ball against DC

Well, after delivering a perfect bowling show at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Krishna said that it was a good pitch for batting, making it tough for bowlers. However, the GT bowler was focused on hitting the right lengths and using yorkers, which worked well for him against the DC.

He also noted that the heat and pressure made it even more challenging out there for the bowlers in Ahmedabad. Prasidh Krishna said after the first innings, as quoted by Cricbuzz, “The wicket was nice to bat on. The pace of the wicket was very easy for the batter to get used to. It was tough for us to turn up as bowlers. Looking to hit the length.

Tried to use the pitch a little more. Worked out for me today. Anything in length was going for runs. Backed my yorker today, and it came out well. It was really, really hot. The intensity and pressure in a game are very hard to handle in such conditions.”

Disastrous start for GT as Shubman Gill run out in risky mix-up

Meanwhile, chasing the 204-run target, Gujarat Titans didn’t have a good start as their in-form captain Shubman Gill was run out by Karun Nair for just 7 runs off 5 balls. Facing Mukesh Kumar, Gill clipped a length delivery towards mid-wicket and immediately called for a risky single.

Karun Nair was sharp, collected the ball cleanly, and with plenty of time in hand, calmly aimed at the stumps and nailed a direct hit at the wicketkeeper's end. Gill was left stranded well short of the crease. His opening partner, Sai Sudharsan, stayed at his end, as it wasn’t his call.

After a quick word with Sudharsan, a disappointed Gill walked back to the pavilion. It was a big blow for the Gujarat Titans early in their chase against the Delhi Capitals. Currently, GT’s score reads 67/1 in 6 overs against the DC in the ongoing IPL 2025 clash in Ahmedabad.
