In a hilarious yet scary incident in The Hundred 2024, the match between Southern Brave and Welsh Fire, Kieron Pollard's six hit the commentary box on the full and left commentator Robert Croft scared.
During the 84th ball of the first innings of the match when Southern Brave was batting, Welsh Fire fast bowler Haris Rauf banged a short-length ball that went up to Kieron Pollard's chest height. Kieron Pollard tried to pull but did not get a proper hold of it.
However, the ball carried over the ropes due to the high pace of Haris Rauf. The ball hit the commentary box on the full where former international cricketers Robert Croft and Kumar Sangakkara were doing the commentary.
Robert Croft, who had his eyes glued on the screen could not watch the ball coming towards him and got scared. "I was trying to do it, you are supposed to do it. Look at the screen. Could have given me a shout guys," Croft said at the commentary while others shared a laugh.

Chasing 140 to win, Welsh Fire struggled throughout the innings. They lost the big wicket of Jonny Bairstow and that opened the floodgates for Southern Brave.
Despite a strong batting order consisting of players like Tom Abell, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Joe Clarke, and Glenn Phillips, they were bowled out for a below-par score of just 97.
David Willey was the highest run-scorer for Fire with 21 off 14 balls and only four of their batters could reach the double-digit figures which shows the state of their batting in the match.
Left-arm quick Tymal Mills bowled an excellent spell with the ball by picking up the big wickets of Luke Wells, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, and David Willey.
Mills finished with 4-16 in 20 balls while Danny Briggs had a brilliant day as he picked up 3-14. Chris Jordan also chipped in with 2 wickets. With this win, Southern Brave have moved to the top of the table with four wins in five matches while Welsh Fire are at the fifth spot in the points table.
