He gave away only 8 runs to earn a victory for his team by 4 runs in the end.

Samson was batting at 119 and after already hitting 6 sixes and 12 boundaries before the final over, he was in a confident mindset. However, Arshdeep Singh managed to defend 13 runs in spite of Sanju Samson facing 5 balls of his over. Post the match, when KL Rahul and Arshdeep Singh were having a chat about the match, the former jokingly said that he did not have any options for bowlers for the last over.

While defending their 221-6 against Rajasthan Royals, Punjab Kings used only 5 bowlers in the second innings. Mohammed Shami, Jhye Richardson, Riley Meredith, Arshdeep Singh, and Murugan Ashwin were the five primary bowlers that Punjab Kings had in the match.

KL Rahul had the option for part-time bowlers like Deepak Hooda and Shahrukh Khan, but Rajasthan Royals’ brilliant batting did not allow him to take any risk with the bowling. As a result, Arshdeep Singh was the only option left to bowl the final over in which Rajasthan Royals needed just 13 runs and he delivered the responsibility well. Punjab Kings will next face Chennai Super Kings on April 16 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
