Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto dropped a simple catch of Team India's wicketkeeper-batter during the first Test of the series. In a surprising moment, KL Rahul, who was scheduled to bat next, started to walk out before Najmul Hossain Shanto dropped the catch off Shakib Al Hasan's bowling.
Rishabh Pant bounced back from a first-innings failure against Bangladesh in Chennai. The left-handed batter reached an impressive half-century off 88 deliveries in India's second innings. Notably, it was his 12th fifty in Test cricket and his first since recovering from a serious accident in December 2022.
Pant's previous Test fifty came against Bangladesh in Mirpur on December 23, 2022. He made an impressive comeback during IPL 2024 season after recovering from a serious injury. The left-handed batter played a crucial role in India's winning campaign during the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in June.

The incident occurred on the sixth ball of the 49th over in India's second innings. Rishabh Pant attempted a slog sweep off Shakib Al Hasan but mistimed the shot.
Najmul Hossain Shanto, who was stationed at mid-wicket, had plenty of time to catch the ball but failed to collect it with two hands.
KL Rahul, who was sitting in the chair in the Indian dugout, decided to get ready for batting. However, he sat back down after Shanto dropped the catch. The video clip quickly gained attention on social media.

Rishabh Pant Gave A Lot Of Respect To Mehidy Hasan - Parthiv Patel
During the lunch break, Parthiv Patel praised Rishabh Pant's approach during the morning session on Day 3. Patel highlighted how Pant respected the bowlers in assessing the situation. He added that Pant became aggressive after realizing Bangladesh wasn't trying to take wickets.
"He played those big shots, but he gave a lot of respect to Mehidy Hasan to start with. Even against the fast bowlers, he was very assured with his defense. He was letting the ball go and understood the situation—you’ve got to respect the time, and that’s exactly what he did," Parthiv Patel said.
"Once he knew that Bangladesh wasn't trying to get any of them out, they made sure to score runs. There were plenty of runs to be taken. I know there was one dropped catch, but other than that, both batters were very much in control," he added.
