Chennai Super Kings batter Rahul Tripathi has been in the news since the time the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 started. The right-hander hasn't been able to perform well for his side and this has seen him getting criticised as well.

Rahul Tripathi has been assigned as a role of opener for Chennai Super Kings. Skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad has sacrificed his opening position for the right-hander but he hasn't been able to repay the faith of the team management so far in the league.

In the first game against Mumbai Indians, Rahul Tripathi was back in the hut after scoring just 2 runs. It was expected that would set the stage on fire in their second game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. But he struggled there as well, scoring just 5 runs.

Then, in the game against Rajasthan Royals, Tripathi had a decent start, and it looked like he would convert it into a big score and return to form. However, his torrid run in the league continued as he was back in the hut after scoring just 23 runs, bagging three consecutive failures.

Rahul Tripathi has received a lot of criticism for his poor show and this has seen calls related to his omission from the XI as well. While things are not completely on his side, he was also trolled by the Tamil commentary panel, involving Kris Srikkanth, Abhinav Mukund, and Pradeep Muthu.

The trio were seen mocking the body moments of Tripathi while batting. They burst out in laughter as they are seen imitating the body moments of the Chennai Super Kings batter.

Chennai Super Kings are having a tough outing in the league

Coming to the campaign of Chennai Super Kings, the Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side are having a tough outing in the league. They started the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on high as they beat Mumbai Indians in their opening encounter, but after that, things didn't go their way.

They then faced a 50-run thrashing at the hands of Royal Challengers Bengaluru, losing to them for the first time in 18 years at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. They looked clueless with the bat and ball as the Rajat Patidar-led side dominated the match.

In their recent encounter against Rajasthan Royals, Chennai Super Kings had another torrid outing. The Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side faced a 6-run loss and are now at the bottom half of the table. They would be keen to make a strong comeback and get their campaign back on track.
