Kuldeep Yadav's resilience with the bat didn't last long in the ongoing first Test against the New Zealand National Cricket Team. The opening game of the three-match series between the teams is taking place at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

India, opting to bat first, had a horrible outing with the bat in the first innings. Wickets fell like a pack of cards as New Zealand National Cricket Team bowlers were all over the batters, bowling impeccable lines and lengths and making life tough for batters.

Kuldeep Yadav, who came out to bat at No.9, looked solid as compared to other batters. He defended the ball pretty well, and with the way he was batting, it seemed that he would stay there for a while and take his team to a fighting total on a track where batting isn't easy.

But Kuldeep Yadav's fightback was ended by the brilliance of subfielder Michael Bracewell. On the 2nd ball of the 33rd over, Matt Henry bowled a length delivery outside off from round the wicket. The batter hung back and punched it.

Kuldeep didn't keep it down, and it went quickly to the left of Bracewell, who was at the gully. He leaped to his left instinctively and stuck his left hand out to grab that. The fielding effort was another highlight of how good New Zealand were on the field.

Kuldeep ended with an inning of 2 runs off 17 balls. With his wicket, India National Cricket Team got all out for 46 runs. This was the lowest total in Asia surpassing 53 runs by West Indies against Pakistan at Faisalabad in 1986 and 53 runs by Pakistan against Australia at Sharjah in 2002.

Kuldeep now would be keen to make an impact for his team with the ball. With overcast conditions, it was a surprise that India opted to add three spinners. In the last series against Bangladesh, they played three pacers, and it was expected that the same would happen this time around, too.

In the 13 games, he has taken 53 wickets with 4 five-wicket hauls as well. With him getting an opportunity after a while, he would want to help his team get at the top with the ball. If India has to make a comeback in the game, they would need a superlative effort from the bowlers.
