Former Australian cricketer Glenn McGrath narrowly escaped a python attack at his home, and a video of the incident went viral on social media platforms. Glenn McGrath revealed that he successfully removed coastal carpet pythons that had invaded his residence.

Glenn McGrath expressed his gratitude to his wife, Sara Leon McGrath, for her support as he safely removed three snakes from their residence. He skillfully rescued and successfully managed to relocate all of them. His snake-catching skills garnered attention on Instagram.

In a video shared on his Instagram, Glenn McGrath can be seen trying to capture the snakes using a mop. Initially, he attempted to coax the snake out gently, but it eventually wrapped around the mop handle. He then carefully walked it to the door and successfully released it back into its natural habitat.

“After plenty of encouragement & support from @saraleonmcgrath all 3 Coastal Carpet Pythons that were in the house were safely released back into the bush,” he wrote.

Former Australian fast bowler Brett Lee, who referred to McGrath with his nickname “Pigeon” during their playing days, left a comment saying, “Yes Pidge”. Australian cricket legend Matthew Hayden was also impressed by McGrath’s skills and commented, “Brilliant.”

Australia Is One Of The Top Four Teams – Glenn McGrath

During his visit to the MRF Pace Foundation academy in Chennai last month, Glenn McGrath picked India, Australia, England, and Pakistan as the four semifinalists in the upcoming ODI World Cup, which is set to be played in India from October 5 to November 19.

“Although the Test team is quite different to the one-day one, I think they will do well. Australia is one of the top four teams to make it to the semis of the World Cup. They like competing in big tournaments and big games,” McGrath said.

“They perform well and have got enough experience, and also have some younger guys coming through. Also, they have enough matches in the sub-continent to prepare for the tournament,” he added.

“I put India and England as well. England has been playing some good one-day cricket lately. I will put Pakistan in there as well.”

The 53-year-old was part of Australia’s three consecutive World Cup campaigns – the 1999 Cricket World Cup, the 2003 Cricket World Cup, and the 2007 Cricket World Cup. He played a crucial role in helping the team win the multinational trophies.
