The 36-year-old Bengal batter Manoj Tiwary continued his outstanding form in the Ranji Trophy 2022 by smashing a ton against Madhya Pradesh in the 1st semi-final at the KSCA Cricket Ground in Alur and he dedicated his century to his family.

The 1st semi-final of the Ranji Trophy 2022 commenced on Tuesday, June 14 with Madhya Pradesh winning the toss and opting to bat first.

Madhya Pradesh were able to post 341/10 on the board in the first innings with the help of the sensational innings of Himanshu Mantri. Mantri scored 165 runs off 327 balls, including 19 fours and 1 six. Also, Akshat Raghuwanshi smashed 63 runs off 81 balls, including 8 fours and 2 sixes.

Bengal’s top-order collapsed in their first innings and then Manoj Tiwary and Shahbaz Ahmed’s brilliant innings helped the team to reach 273/10.

Manoj Tiwary, who is also the Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports in West Bengal, reached his century milestone with a single in the mid-wicket region during the first session on Day 3.

Manoj Tiwary celebrated his second consecutive century in the Ranji Trophy 2022 and he raised his bat in delight. Also, the 36-year-old held aloft a handwritten note which had the name of his wife and other family members along with a heart sign.

Notably, the Bengal batter Tiwary had smashed brilliant 136 runs in the previous Ranji Trophy game against Jharkhand.

Overall in the 1st semi-final against Madhya Pradesh, Tiwary was able to score 102 runs off 211 balls, including 12 fours. He was dismissed by Saransh Jain in the 76th over of the innings as fielder Rajat Patidar grabbed a good catch in the slip cordon.

At Stumps on Day 3, Madhya Pradesh were at 163/2 and they were having a good lead of 231 runs. Star batter Rajat Patidar was unbeaten at 63 alongside Aditya Shrivastava, who was at 34.
