England National Cricket Team suffered a massive injury scare during the ongoing game against Afghanistan in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Fast bowler Mark Wood has faced a knee injury at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, where the match is underway.

England National Cricket Team fast bowler Mark Wood looked in threatening touch with the ball right from the start of the ongoing game. The fast bowler rushed the Afghanistan National Cricket Team batters with his raw pace along with the swing that he extracted from the surface.

Mark Wood beat both the edges of the bat and although he was unlucky in getting wickets, he looked unplayable. The fast bowler put pressure on the Afghanistan National Cricket Team batters and his tight bowling allowed Jofra Archer to take wickets at the other end.

Mark Wood didn't have luck going his way completely, as not only did he not get wickets, but he ended up getting injured. During the 8th over, the fast bowler faced some issues on his left knee. It happened after he bowled the 4th ball of the over.

Mark Wood was seen walking across gingerly as he called out physios to attend to him. The fast bowler was down on the ground and was getting his left knee stretched by the physio. However, after that, he was back up and had a chat with the umpire before completing his over.

As soon as he completed his over, Mark Wood then walked back to the dressing room. He was looking uncomfortable with his left knee. The pacer has a history of a number of injuries in the past and England National Cricket Team would be hoping that it isn't something serious.

Thankfully for the England National Cricket Team, Mark Wood was back on the field on the field after getting some treatment. Not only in his game, the fast bowler will be extremely important for the Jos Buttler-led side in the tournament, especially with a semi-final spot at stake.
