England is touring India for a five-match Test series with the first Test going on in Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium. James Anderson has been left out of the playing XI. Michael Vaughan and Adam Gilchrist were discussing India vs England Test series on a podcast called the ‘Club Prairie Fire’ where Michael Vaughan made a hilarious remark on the veteran England pacer after he failed to get a spot in the playing XI.

Michael Vaughan was talking about the England team and he mentioned that James Anderson is just 10 wickets away from his 700th Test wicket. However, the former England skipper took a dig at the pacer by saying that he as just found his run-up. James Anderson was seen practising in the nets ahead of the first Test and then he was seen bowling from a different run-up. Michael Vaughan took a jibe at James Anderson by talking about his run-up.

The hilarious part about Michael Vaughan’s remarks was his statement about Anderson finding his run-up at this stage of his career. James Anderson has already played 183 Test matches for England and has taken 690 wickets. He is the best pacer in terms of wickets taken in Test cricket and Michael Vaughan saying that the lad has just found his run-up does not make any sense but got a few chuckles from his fellows on the podcast.

“Well, he has worked on his run-up. I mean, I think at the age of 46, as you mentioned Prof, he’s finally found his run-up. He’s getting close to 700 Test wickets, so it’s a bit of a warning for the rest of the world that he has found his run-u,” said Michael Vaughan.

James Anderson has been dropped from the first Test and Mark Wood is the only pacer present in England’s Playing XI for the first Test. Anderson has been a veteran in Test cricket and is the highest wicket-taker amongst fast bowlers in Test cricket. He has taken 690 wickets in his Test career and is just 10 wickets away from getting to 700 wickets in his career becoming the third bowler to do so.

India and England are currently facing each other in the First Test at Hyderabad where after Lunch England are on 108/3 with Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root on strike. England is the last team to win a Test series in India but it was back in 2012 and since then India has won 16 consecutive Test series at home. This time the Bazball strategy can be a different challenge for the Indian side but given the turning conditions in India, the Bazball might not work here.

Ben Stokes and Rohit Sharma both the captains would like to maintain their unbeaten streak in the Test series. India is currently second on the WTC table and England is seventh. The Indian team would hope to win the series and take the top spot replacing defending champions Australia in the WTC Table. Indian spinners are looking good as they have taken all three wickets as of now.
