The ongoing third Test between Australia and India at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) started on an emotional note as fast-bowler Mohammed Siraj failed to keep his emotions under control. The Hyderabad star who made his Test debut in the second match of the series at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, was seen in tears while singing the national anthem moments before the start of play on day one.
The cameras captured the moment when tears came rolling down Mohammed Siraj’s eyes. The pacer wiped off the tears only after the national anthem concluded. The last few days have been indeed very emotional for Mohammed Siraj. In November, his father Mohammed Ghouse passed away while he was in Australia, preparing for the ongoing Tests.

He was hospitalised while the tournament was on in the gulf nation. At that time too, Mohammed Siraj had put up a brave face and continued playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore. The pacer is now being fully rewarded for his courage and commitment as Team India have backed him in the ongoing Tests. He impressed on his Test debut and took five wickets in the game to help the team register a stunning win.
Mohammed Siraj has started the ongoing Test in a similar fashion too. He gave India the first breakthrough by sending back David Warner cheaply before rain halted play. At the time of compiling this report, Australia were on 21 for 1.
