Watch: Mohammed Siraj Produces Brilliant Direct-Hit To Remove Reeza Hendricks

India National Cricket Team premier pacer Mohammed Siraj bowled exceptionally well in the third T20I of the three-match series against South Africa National Cricket Team at the Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg on Thursday, December 14, 2023.

Siraj looked a class apart in the third T20I and bowled a sensational spell with the new ball. He even bowled a maiden but the pacer was very unfortunate as he wasn’t able to get any wicket.

However, he built enough pressure on the batters that the Indian bowlers utilized and picked up wickets at regular intervals. Mohammed Siraj was also great on the field and on the second ball of the 4th over he produced a brilliant direct hit to dismiss the explosive opener, Reeza Hendricks.

Arshdeep Singh bowled a full-length ball to Reeza Hendricks on the middle stump and the batsman played it towards mid-on. He went for a single but Siraj quickly collected the ball and fired a direct hit at the non-striker’s end to find Reeza Hendricks short. He was dismissed after scoring 8 runs off 13 balls, with 1 four.

In the end, India restricted South Africa to 95 runs in 13.5 overs to register a dominant 106-run victory. Kuldeep Yadav picked a 5-wicket haul, Ravindra Jadeja bagged two wickets while Mukesh Kumar and Arshdeep Singh got one wicket each.

Speaking after the match, India captain Suryakumar Yadav, who won the Player of the Match and Player of the Series awards, said that they wanted to play a fearless brand of cricket. He also lauded Kuldeep Yadav for his magnificent bowling performance. He said:

“I am good. I am walking, so good. Always a good feeling. When it comes in a winning cause, it makes me happier. We wanted to play some fearless brand of cricket. The idea was to bat first, put some runs on the board and defend. 

“The boys work day in and day out. Happy that they showed some character. He is never happy. He is always hungry. It is a nice self-gift on his birthday. I mean it is important to know your game. I just go out there and enjoy myself. The balance is important.”
