As much a professional side Mumbai Indians franchise is, they also like to have fun around their coaches and senior players. Mumbai Indians’ bowling coach Shane Bond was part of one such hilarious moment during the clash against the Rajasthan Royals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. As he was speaking during a virtual interview, some men at the dugout were throwing ice cubes at him.
The incident occurred in the 11th over of the Rajasthan Royals’ batting when the commentator talked to Shane Bond about various aspects of the tournament. The likes of James Neesham and Ishan Kishan were amongst the ones throwing ice cubes at their bowling coach, trying to distract him as he spoke.
Nevertheless, Bond did not get distracted despite being aware of what transpired in the background. When the commentator asked Shane Bond as to whether he seems to enjoy the coaching role, he sarcastically replied, “I’ll be if I wasn’t getting any ice being thrown around from the boys at my back”
Mumbai Indians restrict Rajasthan Royals to 171 after electing to bowl first:
As far as the match status is concerned, the defending champions kept the Royals to 171 in 20 overs. Though none of the Royals’ batsmen hit a fifty, they all chipped in with significant contributions. Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube, and Yashasvi Jaiswal all played brisk knocks to lift their side to a stiff total. Jasprit Bumrah finished with figures of 4-0-15-1.
