Musheer Khan delivered a standout performance for India B in the first game of the ongoing Duleep Trophy 2024 against India A, shining with both bat and in the field at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

His brilliant knock of 181 runs was crucial in India B's commanding total against India A. Showcasing his class and resilience at the crease, Musheer Khan missed his double century by just 19 runs, falling to Kuldeep Yadav for 181 runs off 373 balls in the match in Bengaluru.

His innings were filled with impeccable shot selection and composure under pressure, hitting 16 boundaries and 5 sixes. Adding to his exceptional batting, the Mumbai star was sharp in the field, taking two catches, including a crucial catch to dismiss Tanush Kotian off Sai Kishore’s bowling in the second ball of the 70th over of India A's first innings.

In a thrilling moment of the Duleep Trophy 2024 match, Kishore delivered a decisive blow to Kotian's innings with a masterful piece of bowling. Kotian was determined to counter the relentless pressure, facing off against Kishore’s spinning deliveries at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

As Kishore came over the wicket, his strategy became apparent. He tossed the ball up outside Kotian’s leg stump, tempting him into playing a shot. Well, the India A batter accidentally inside-edged the delivery onto his pad while attempting to nudge the ball into the leg side.

The deflection sent the ball skyward, directly into the hands of Musheer Khan stationed at short leg. The moment was electric. Kishore, who had been building up the pressure with every delivery, erupted in celebration as the wicket fell, while Musheer also jumped in excitement.

Kotian’s defiant resistance, which had stretched to 32 runs off 71 balls, was finally broken, thanks to Kishore's skillful bowling and a sharp catch taken by Musheer. Musheer didn’t stop there, as he grabbed another stunning catch to grab the spotlight in the match.

Mukesh Kumar delivered a short-of-length ball aimed at the leg stump, and Akash Deep (11), batting from the back foot, tried to push it forward. However, the ball caught an inside edge, striking his thigh and popping up near his short leg.

Musheer Khan, positioned perfectly, made a quick dive to his left and secured the catch with both hands, taking another brilliant catch to impress one and all with his fielding.

Watch here for Musheer Khan's stunning fielding:

India A was restricted to 231 after India A posted 321 runs in the first inning in the opening round of the Duleep Trophy 2024. Mukesh Kumar and Navdeep Saini starred with the ball for India B, finishing with three-wicket hauls against India A.

Musheer Khan fails to deliver in the second innings

Sai Kishore snared two wickets, with KL Rahul being the top scorer for the star-studded India A team with 37 runs against India B in Bengaluru. Notably, India B had a really terrible start to their second innings, losing three wickets for just 22 runs against India A in Bengaluru.

India B openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and captain Abhimanyu Easwaran were dismissed for just 9 and 4 runs by Khaleel Ahmed and Akash Deep, respectively, on Sunday. Musheer Khan failed to replicate his first-inning heroics in the second inning in Bengaluru. He was dismissed for a duck, falling victim to another leg-side strangle in the match.

The delivery, angling down leg, tempted Musheer to shuffle across and attempt a flick. Unfortunately, he got a faint inside edge, sending the ball to the left of the wicketkeeper, Dhruv Jurel.

Jurel reacted swiftly, diving to his left and pulling off an incredible one-handed catch. His athletic effort left everyone in awe, and his elation was well-deserved after such a stunning grab.
