India A beat the Bangladesh team by 51 runs in the semi-final of the ACC Men’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2023 in Colombo on Friday, July 21. India A cricketer Nikin Jose’s spectacular diving catch to dismiss Bangladesh A batter Tanzid Hasan became a highlight of the match.

The Men in Blue advanced to the final match of the tournament following their victory against Bangladesh. The Yash Dhull-led team will lock horns with the Pakistan Shaheens team in the final of the tournament at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Sunday, July 23.

India A side was bowled out for 211 runs in 49.1 overs after being asked to bat first. The Indian batters struggled to score against quality Bangladesh spinners in challenging conditions. In the run chase, the Indian bowlers bundled out the opposition team for 160 runs in 34.2 overs.

Nikin Jose Grabs A Stunning Catch

The incident took place in the 18th over of Bangladesh’s innings. Opener Tanzid Hasan attempted to play a lofted shot over the mid-on fielder in Nishant Sindhu’s bowling. The shot was mistimed, and Nikin Jose, who was positioned at mid-off, and dived forward to take a low catch.

Yash Dhull Named Player Of The Match Award

Abhishek Sharma (34) and Sai Sudharsan (21) had a 29-run partnership for the first wicket. The team lost their second wicket for 74 runs and collapsed to 137/7. Skipper Yash Dhull‘s impressive knock of 66 runs off 85 balls played a crucial role in helping the team reach a respectable total.

In response, Bangladesh got off to a good start, with Mohammad Naim (38) and Tanzid Hasan (51) adding 70 runs in 12.4 overs. Manav Suthar provided a breakthrough by dismissing Naim. Nishant Sindhu picked up a five-wicket haul of 5/20, while Manav Suthar contributed with 3/32.
