Travis Head Scores Second Consecutive Test Century vs India

Travis Head reached his century in the 69th over of Australia's first innings in the Brisbane Test. Jasprit Bumrah attempted a yorker, but it turned into a low full toss, and Head chipped it through mid-wicket for three runs. The left-handed batter reached his ton in just 115 deliveries against the Indian attack.

He is taking the ongoing Test match in Brisbane away from India's hands. Head is averaging over 100 in the ongoing series, with two centuries and an 89 in the second innings of the first Test in Perth. He also surpassed 1,000 runs at a 50-plus average against India, including three hundreds and four fifties.

The India-Travis Head Match-up Is Interesting - Adam Gilchrist

Speaking ahead of the third Test, former Australian player Adam Gilchrist advised India to use the short-ball strategy to counter Travis Head. Gilchrist noted that Head has struggled with this tactic, citing New Zealand's success with it earlier in the year.

"The India-Travis Head match-up is interesting. I can't believe they haven't started with a short-pitch bowling strategy against him and stuck with it. He'll take it on and might score some runs, but I've seen New Zealand use it effectively before. It's about making your plans clear and challenging the batter-forcing him to take risks to escape the pressure,” Adam Gilchrist told SEN Cricket (via India Today).
