Ollie Pope had to just his bat after facing just 1 delivery on day three of the ongoing second Test between England and West Indies at Trent Bridge.

The right-handed batsman had to walk out to bat in the very second over after opener Zak Crawley was run out. On the fourth ball of the second over, Crawley's innings ended in an unfortunate fashion and he had to depart for just 3 runs.

Jayden Seales' full-length delivery was driven straight by Ben Duckett before the West Indies pacer managed to get his fingers on the ball. The ball went on to crash into the stumps at the non-striker's end and caught Crawley outside the crease.

The right-handed batsman tried to get his bat down in time but failed and had no option but to depart for a single-digit score for the second time in the game. In the first innings, he could not even open his account. Crawley's dismissal brought Ollie Pope at the crease and the England no. 3 had a dramatic start to his innings.

He faced his first delivery of the innings in the third over. Alzarri Joseph was delivering the over and Ollie Pope had to change his bat after facing just one ball as he ended up breaking his bat. It was a fullish delivery from Alzarri and the right-handed batsman went for a drive. However, the ball hit the bottom of the bat and a chunk of the willow came off immediately.

Pope had scored 121 runs while Duckett had scored 71 runs in the first innings.

Earlier in the day, West Indies finished their first innings on 457 runs in reply to England's first innings total of 416. Kavem Hodge starred with the bat, scoring 120 while Alick Athanaze scored 82 and Joshua Da Silva remained unbeaten on 82.
