Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain Rajat Patidar has come under heavy scrutiny after ignoring KL Rahul following his team’s six-wicket loss to Delhi Capitals in the 24th game of the ongoing IPL 2025 on Thursday, April 10, at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

In a fiery twist after Delhi Capitals crushed Royal Challengers Bengaluru in their home match, Rajat Patidar stunned everyone with his cold gesture towards KL Rahul.

Actually, a post-match video is going viral on social media, which highlights a tense moment that fans can’t stop talking about.

Rajat Patidar walks past KL Rahul in handshake drama

As players from both the DC and RCB teams lined up for the customary handshake after the match, Rahul was seen exchanging pleasantries with Suyash Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Virat Kohli, and Phil Salt.

But just as Rahul turned towards Salt, Rajat Patidar, who was right there, blatantly ignored him and walked past without even a glance. It seems that Patidar deliberately ignored the DC star.

The snub was so sharp, it instantly reminded fans of MS Dhoni leaving the field without shaking hands with the RCB players after CSK crashed out of the playoffs, and it had sparked controversy in the IPL last season. This time also, the RCB skipper has been facing heat from the fans.

However, Rahul, unfazed by Rajat Patidar's behavior, continued shaking hands with Krunal Pandya and Tim David.

Whether it was a deliberate move or just a moment of heat, Rajat Patidar's cold shoulder to Rahul has triggered a storm online, with many fans slamming the RCB captain for his behavior.

DC was in deep trouble early on, losing three wickets for just 30 runs in the first 4.3 overs. But Rahul took charge, guided the chase confidently, and helped his side reach the 164-run target in just 17.5 overs at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

KL Rahul opens up about his "Ye mera ground hai" celebration

After sealing the win for DC, the Karnataka-born cricketer celebrated in style, sending out a bold message with his fiery gesture in Bengaluru— pointing at his badge and mentioning, “Ye mera ground hai (This is my ground).” With this win, DC earned two points and remained in the second spot in the IPL 2025 points table with 8 points.

Rahul said at the post-match presentation about his celebration, “This is my ground, my home; I know this ground better than anyone else. This is a special place for me. The celebration was from one of my favorite movies, Kantara. So, yes, just a tiny reminder that this ground, this home, this turf is where I have grown up, and this is mine.”

Delhi Capitals will next face Mumbai Indians on April 13 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi in their next clash in the ongoing IPL 2025.
