India Women's National Cricket Team players Richa Ghosh and Renuka Singh looked under clear pressure during the ongoing game against the New Zealand Women's National Cricket Team. The 4th game of the Women's T20 World Cup 2024 is taking place at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai.
India Women's National Cricket Team have been asked to field first, and they didn't have a great start with the ball. New Zealand openers Suzie Bates and Georgia Plimmer batted positively and smacked bowlers all over the park.
The pressure was visible on Indian players, and it was reflected in their performance on the field. The two blunders came in the same over when fast bowler Arundhati Reddy was bowling the last over of the power play.
On the second ball of the over, Renuka Singh came up with a poor fielding effort that cost her team four runs. Arundhati Reddy bowled a full delivery on middle to which Georgia Plimmer ran down the track and attempted to loft it down the ground.
The New Zealand opener didn't get the proper connection as the ball went towards the square leg off the inner half of the bat. The bottom hand even came off the handle and it seemed that it would be just a single. However, Renuka Singh let it straight through her hands as she came to attack it from a deep square leg, and the ball went for the boundary.

To worsen the case more for the India Women, on the 4th ball of the same over, wicketkeeper batter Richa Ghosh came up with a bizarre effort. Richa Ghosh dropped an easy catch that left the entire team, including skipper Harmanpreet Kaur and the entire coaching staff, disappointed.
Arundhati Reddy bowled a length delivery to which Suzie Bates backed away and looked to heave it into the leg side. The ball took the top edge and went straight up, and it seemed it would be an easy catch for keeper Richa Ghosh.
Richa Ghosh settled under it and made a mess of it. Notably, Richa Ghosh couldn't hold on as it swirled around and gave Suzie Bates another life who then punished the Indian team.

The dropped catch cost India more as Suzie Bates hit four on the next ball. Both the openers went on to hit 67 runs for the opening partnership. After that, the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side made a comeback and picked wickets in the middle overs but couldn't finish well.
New Zealand skipper Sophie Devine (67*) slammed a magnificent half-century and took her team to a total of 160 runs. Renuka Singh was the pick of the bowlers for India as she returned with the figures of 2/27. Apart from her, Arundhati Reddy and Asha Sobhana picked one wicket each.
