India National Cricket Team keeper-batter Rishabh Pant didn't have the kind of outing he would have wanted in the ongoing second innings of the second Test against the New Zealand National Cricket Team. The match between the teams is underway at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.

Rishabh Pant walked out to bat at No.5 after the India National Cricket Team lost to Yashasvi Jaiswal, who slammed a terrific half-century. With him being in terrific form, it was expected that the keeper-batter would play a role for the team and would take his team close to the target.

Rishabh Pant looked solid in his defence but he had a worst possible end to his innings. The keeper-batter got out horribly as a poor call from him, along with Virat Kohli, saw him getting run out for a duck, jolting India National Cricket Team big time in the run chase.

Ajaz Patel bowled a length ball around off to Virat Kohli and the batter went back and tapped it to the left of backward point. He immediately ran for a single, but Mitchell Santner came up with the clean pick-up and throw as the ball went to his preferred left side, and surely the run wasn't on.

Rishabh Pant was well short of his ground. The wicket was surely a call from Virat Kohli, and the keeper-batter didn't turn it down. This led to his downfall as despite putting in the dive, he was way behind the crease.

Virat Kohli walks back to hut after 17 runs

Rishabh Pant was extremely livid with the way he got out. The keeper-batter's wicket came as a massive jolt in the chase of around 360. With his wicket, the hosts were left reeling at 127/4. This even left an impact on Virat Kohli as well as he, too, after a while perished.

Virat Kohli looked solid with the bat, and it seemed that he would be brought back into the game, but that wasn't the case. He was removed by Mitchell Santner for the second time in the match and was back in the hut after scoring just 17 runs off 40 balls including two boundaries.

India under huge trouble in Pune

India National Cricket Team has been put in a spot of bother in the ongoing second Test against the New Zealand National Cricket Team. They have yet again faced a batting collapse in the second innings as well and are now on the cusp of losing the match again.

After the wicket of Kohli, the India National Cricket Team also lost Sarfaraz Khan for 9 runs and Washington Sundar, who was looking solid with the bat, for 21 runs. The onus will now be on Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja to take their team home and level the series.

But with the way New Zealand bowlers, in particular Mitchell Santner, have bowled, they look favourites to win the game. India hasn't lost a series at home and if they lose the ongoing game, it would be for the first time in 12 years that they will suffer series loss at home.
