Watch: Rishabh Pant Introduces His New Friend 'Spidey' During Team India's Net Session

India’s premier keeper-batsman Rishabh Pant seems to have an obsession with Spider-man. Rishabh Pant had already sung the famous track of ‘Spiderman, Spiderman’ during India’s tour of Australia and mimicking the same during his gym session. On this occasion, the 23-year old displayed his fascination with the fictional hero via a drone, terming it as spidey.

The star Indian batsman, who has hammered a fifty in his last four Tests, introduced the instrument or his friend during one of India’s net session. Pant took to his official Instagram handle and captioned it as “I’ve spent a lot of time behind the stumps, thought of taking in a new view at the nets today! Meet my new friend, I call him spidey,”

Indian captain Virat Kohli revealed that Rishabh Pant likes to have fun on the field, mainly when the situation is challenging to keep the boys entertained with his conversation. Kohli believes that the Delhi cricketer’s attitude is quite helpful in the park as it brings plenty of energy to the team and the skipper wants him to continue doing it.

“He’s a guy who likes to have fun on the field. That’s his personality and essence. We want him to continue doing that manner because that keeps the boys entertained and conversation out there is very helpful when the situation is tough and the things are not going your way. His personality is very helpful for the team. He brings in a lot of energy and we want him to continue the same way,” Kohli said in a post-match interview.

The 23-year old has been magnificent with the willow in the last few Tests, playing an integral role in India’s four-match series victory in Australia. The southpaw’s part was crucial in the draw the visitors earned in Sydney and the victory scored in Brisbane.

He also struck a quick-fire fifty in the first innings of the second Test against England to drive the hosts to a winning total and consequently beat the English team. Pant’s glovework has drastically improved as well, displaying in the second Test in Chennai by taking some outstanding catches. The third Test between India and England begins on Wednesday in Ahmedabad and is a day and night affair.
