Indian young all-rounder, Riyan Parag has come up with a never-before-seen replication of MS Dhoni’s 2011 World Cup-winning six as the Indian captain celebrated his 40th birthday on Wednesday. Fans around the world and the cricketing fraternity wished the iconic figure in Indian cricket happy birthday, while Devdutt Padikkal, who shares his birthday with MS Dhoni, wished the legend before cutting the cake. But Riyan Parag thought of a creative way of paying tribute to Dhoni.
In a clip shared by Riyan Parag in his official Twitter handle, the youngster copied all MS Dhoni’s mannerisms before the bowler delivers the ball. After that, he smashed a six over long-on and swung the bat as Dhoni did in the 2011 World Cup final against Sri Lanka in Mumbai after hitting the six. The pose after hitting the six is often remembered as the poster picture of the men in blue’s successful campaign.
Below is Riyan Parag’s clip of recreating MS Dhoni’s 2011 World Cup-winning six:

The 40-year old famously promoted himself ahead of an in-form Yuvraj Singh even as India were three down and needed more than 100 runs for victory. The right-handed batsman struck an unbeaten 91 off 79 deliveries to deliver India’s second World Cup win. Gautam Gambhir, coming in after Virender Sehwag’s two-ball duck, was the top-scorer with 97.
MS Dhoni retired from international cricket in August 2020, a year after he played his last game for India. But the Ranchi-born cricketer continues to ply his trade in IPL for the Chennai Super Kings. After a disastrous 2020 season, he catapulted the yellow army to five wins out of seven in the first phase of IPL 2021. The keeper-batsman, with three IPL titles, is one of the most successful captains in tournament history.
