India National Cricket Team skipper Rohit Sharma has come under a bit of pressure in the ongoing second ODI against the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team. The match between the teams is underway at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Sunday (4th August).
After Mohammed Siraj took a wicket on the first ball of the innings, Sri Lanka batters Avishka Fernando and Kusal Mendis batted terrifically and put India under pressure. They eased into the innings and soaked in all the pressure, making sure they got runs under their belt.
India captain Rohit Sharma tried different bowling options but nothing went in his way as Avishka Fernando and Kusal Mendis tackled the bowlers well. This made skipper Rohit frustrated, and the agony was visible on his face as his team had a lean phase in the game.
Rohit Sharma, however, vented out his frustration at Shivam Dube, who came up with a casual effort on the field. As the ball went to the all-rounder in the deep, he came up with a poor throw and this didn't go well with the captain of the team, who fumed at the fielder for his effort. This incident happened in the 6th over of the innings.

The duo of Avishka Fernando and Kusal Mendis batted well and brought Sri Lanka National Cricket Team back into the game. They added 74 runs for the second wicket, but the introduction of Washington Sundar into the attack changed the course of the game and brought India back into the game.
The spinner first removed Avishka Fernando for 40 runs and then, in the very next over, trapped Kusal Mendis in lbw for 30 runs. These two blows made skipper Rohit Sharma elated as the pressure went back to the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team, having lost two set batters quickly.
India so far has used 6 bowlers, and they have all been decent. Shivam Dube also rolled his arm over, and in the two overs, he gave away just 10 runs. Spinners have been bowling well and will be key for the team going ahead into the innings.
Rohit Sharma to play a crucial role with the bat in the second innings.
India National Cricket Team skipper Rohit Sharma will be key for the team in the chase. The opening batter will be keen to give his team a positive start as he did in the last game. With batting conditions being tough, a lot would be dependent on the start he gives.
Rohit Sharma looked in solid touch in the first game. The opening batter batted in a full tilt in first and ensured his team got off to a flying start. He took the attack to the bowlers right from the start and added 75 runs in the opening stand with Shubman Gill.
Rohit Sharma ended with an innings of 58 runs off 47 balls. The opening batter batted with a strike rate of over 123 and also slammed 7 fours and 3 sixes in his innings. However, his efforts went in vain as Indian batters couldn't cash on the start he got and failed to win the game.
