Team India players continue to receive adulation in the country after their victorious campaign in the recently concluded ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

India ended their long wait for an ICC trophy with a win over South Africa in the final of the T20 World Cup last Saturday. The Men in Blue beat the Proteas by 7 runs in a thrilling game in Barbados as India won the tournament after a gap of 17 years. After scoring 176/7 in 20 overs, the Rohit Sharma-led side had restricted South Africa to 169/8.

The celebrations have not stopped since then. The euphoria reached unparalleled heights once Team India landed in the country after they were forced to delay their departure from Barbados due to Hurricane Beryl. Team India landed in New Delhi on Thursday morning and the party has been going on since then. They first met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence before leaving the national capital for Mumbai.

In Mumbai, the Indian team took part in a victory parade from Marine Drive to the Wankhede Stadium as thousands of fans gave them a rousing welcome. The players were also felicitated by the BCCI at the Wankhede Stadium. The BCCI handed the team the prize money of Rs 125 crore during the event.

After the celebrations in Mumbai, the players have been receiving hero's welcome in their respective hometowns as well. And recently, Mumbai Indians owners Ambanis felicitated the players of the franchise as well.

Captain Hardik Pandya, his predecessor Rohit Sharma, and Suryakumar Yadav were honored by the Ambanis during Anant and Radhika's sangeet ceremony in Mumbai. All the guests as well as the players were waving their hands as the DJ played the 'Lehra do' song.

Mumbai-based players felicitated by CM:

Earlier, the Mumbai-based players were felicitated by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde as well. Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube, and Yashasvi Jaiswal visited the CM's official residence before paying a visit to the Maharashtra Vidhan Bhavan complex as well.

"It was a solid team effort. Surya just told everyone that the ball landed in his hand luckily. Had it not landed, I would have made him sat in the next match," Rohit had said after the felicitation ceremony.
