India has had a good start to the fourth day’s play as they have taken two wickets since the resume of the play on Day 4. After dismissing Rehan Ahmed, Ravichandran Ashwin also dismissed Ollie Pope as Rohit Sharma took a sharp catch at the first slip. Pope was playing attacking cricket as he was dismissed for 23 off 21 balls after smashing five fours.

While trying to cut Ashwin on the second ball of the 29th over, Ollie Pope edges the ball and Rohit Sharma hangs his hand out and plucks a sharp catch to dismiss the batting hero of the first Test. It was a big wicket for India as Ollie Pope scored 196 in the second innings of the first Test and took the game out of India’s hands. He is also the vice-captain of the England team. Ollie Pope was looking good before getting out to Ashwin’s delivery as he smashed five fours in his innings and was quick to get to 23.

Rohit Sharma is often trolled for his fitness and physique but the Indian captain has been a magnificent fielder and rarely drops catches when it comes to fielding at catching positions. He has been a great fielder and his physique does not define his reflexes on the field. England is in deep trouble as they are already four wickets down with more than 200 runs to get in order to win the Test match.

Ravichandran Ashwin took Rehan Ahmed and Ollie Pope and Axar Patel has dismissed Joe Root since the start of Day 4. However, Zak Crawley is still going strong and has crossed the 50-run mark in this inning as well. Ravichandran Ashwin has now taken 499 wickets in Test cricket and is just one wicket away from getting to the 500-wicket landmark. He has been one of the greatest Test all-rounders and has been a key asset for India in red-ball cricket.

Rohit Sharma may not be having the best time with the bat but his captaincy has been brilliant in the second Test. The way he has used his bowlers in this match has been brilliant and England is currently on the back foot with India ready to pounce on them after the defeat in Hyderabad by 28 runs which led the hosts to be behind in the series by 0-1.

Rohit Sharma has not lost a Test series as captain and he would like to maintain this record against England after the conclusion of this five-match Test series. Ben Stokes is another captain who is yet to lose a Test series as England’s full-time Test captain and since the introduction of Bazball, the duo of Brendon McCullum and Ben Stokes have reached new heights in terms of approach and intent in Test cricket.

India has not lost a Test series at home since 2012 and has won 16 consecutive Test series in India since the last defeat against England in 2012. If they win the second Test in Vishakhapatnam, they would level the series 1-1 and then carry on with the momentum to win the series and make it an unbeaten streak of 17 Test series victories at home.
