Sarfaraz Khan likely to feature in India XI in Perth Test
Sarfaraz Khan is likely to feature in the playing XI of the India National Cricket Team in the Test series opener against the Australia National Cricket Team in Perth.
He has overall played 6 Test matches and has scored 371 runs at an average of 37.10, with the best of 150. The batter, who has scored 3 fifties and 1 century in Test cricket, failed miserably in his last few outings in the longest format of the game.
At home - Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai - Sarfaraz Khan registered scores of 0 & 1 against the New Zealand National Cricket Team in the third Test, and in the previous match in Pune, he had scored 11 & 9 runs, respectively.
He was given a nod ahead of the struggling KL Rahul but has not managed to seal his place in the playing XI. The right-hander will be featuring in his first Test series outside India and will be tested by the bouncy pitches in Australia. He will be fighting Dhruv Jurel and KL Rahul for a spot in the middle-order.
Rohit Sharma all but ruled out of Perth Test vs Australia
India captain Rohit Sharma didn't travel with the Indian team to Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 and is currently in Mumbai, where he has been putting in hard yards.
Rohit Sharma has not traveled with the team because he wanted to give time to his family as he and his wife are expecting their second child.
India skipper will make a decision on traveling to Australia once his second child is born, and till then, there is a question mark over his availability for the marquee series.
