West Indies National Cricket Team captain Roston Chase cleaned up the star India National Cricket Team wicketkeeper-batsman Dhruv Jurel in the second and last Test match of the series on Saturday, October 11.

Roston Chase also gave a death stare to Dhruv Jurel after picking up his wicket in the first innings of the match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

Dhruv Jurel falls short of a fifty as Roston Chase dismisses him

Jurel has been playing as India's first-choice wicketkeeper-batsman in the ongoing Test series against West Indies because of the absence of the vice-captain, Rishabh Pant. Pant was unable to achieve match fitness for the Test series against the Roston Chase-led side after getting injured on the England tour.

Dhruv Jurel made the most of the opportunity he got in place of Pant and slammed a terrific ton in the series opener at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. This led to calls for his retention in the India Test playing XI even after the return of Rishabh Pant.

Meanwhile, Dhruv Jurel continued his form in the second Test and showcased yet another impressive batting. He played some terrific shots on his arrival in the middle and looked set for another big score.

However, he fell six runs short of his fifty and got out after scoring 44 runs off 79 balls, with five boundaries. Jurel was cleaned up by the West Indies skipper while trying to hit a boundary in the 135th over.

On the second ball of the over, Roston Chase bowled an 89.6 kmph delivery on the stumps, and Jurel cleared his front leg and tried to smash the ball across the line. However, he missed it altogether and saw his stumps getting rattled. With his dismissal, India decided to declare the innings at 518/5d.

He will surely become India's main wicketkeeper batter in the coming time - Dhruv Jurel's coach

Dhuv Jurel's childhood coach, Phoolchand Sharma, has lavished rich praise on the young wicketkeeper-batsman and backed him to achieve tremendous success while comparing him to the legendary MS Dhoni.

Phoolchand Sharma stated that Jurel is different from Rishabh Pant and backed him to become the main wicketkeeper-batsman for the Indian team in the future.

"Rishabh Pant is a different type of player. He is a batsman-keeper. But Dhruv Jurel is a keeper-batsman. So if we are a test team, we want a professional keeper for the keeping. So in keeping, I can say that Dhruv Jurel will be compared with MS Dhoni," Phoolchand Sharma told Sports Tak.

"He is performing brilliantly; he scored good runs for India A against Australia A at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. After that, he smashed a century in the 1st Test against the West Indies. He is doing great performances, he is a very big player and he will surely become India's main wicketkeeper batter in coming time," Phoolchand Sharma added.
