Sachin Tendulkar hails Jannik Sinner after Wimbledon triumph over Alexander Zverev
Earlier, Sachin Tendulkar congratulated Jannik Sinner after the Italian star successfully defended his Wimbledon men's singles title. The world No. 1 Sinner defeated Alexander Zverev in a thrilling four-set final to win his fifth Grand Slam title. It was Sinner's first Grand Slam trophy of the 2026 season.
Soon after the final, Tendulkar lauded Zverev's strong all-round performance throughout the match but felt that Sinner's calm mindset and mental toughness made the difference in the end and helped him lift the Wimbledon trophy.
Tendulkar posted on X (formerly Twitter): “@ Alex Zverev really threw everything at @janniksin today! His serve, his movement, his shot-making... outstanding. But Sinner showed why champions need more than just their best tennis. He had to fight through difficult moments, stay composed, and keep believing. That resilience made the difference.”
