Fast bowler Sandeep Sharma was unfortunately hit right on his chest by a throw from Yashasvi Jaiswal from the deep. The incident happened during the seventh over of the match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals in Hyderabad.
Travis Head thrashed a pitched-up delivery from Sandeep Sharma down the ground but the bowler got a hand to it. The ball ricocheted towards Yashasvi Jaiswal at long-off and the youngster threw the ball quickly.
Sandeep didn't expect the throw towards him as he was involved in a small conversation with Travis Head. But the ball hit right onto his chest, leaving him in some pain. The pacer was visibly furious at Jaiswal, however, the latter apologized immediately for his mistake.

Rajasthan Royals skipper Riyan Parag quickly ran in to inquire about Sandeep Sharma's safety. The bowler was in some pain but was quick to recover to bowl the next delivery. It was brave of the fast bowler to get back into his job.
Ishan Kishan rubbed salt into the wounds by hitting the next ball for a four through sweeper cover. It was all because of a poor effort from the fielder Shubhamn Dubey in the deep.
Sandeep Sharma's IPL growth
Sandeep Sharma has been one of the most underrated bowlers in the IPL over the years. The pacer might not bowl with express speed but he has the skills and variations to trouble any batter.
He has been a key player in RR's set-up and has grown into a better bowler with experience. Sandeep was initially a bowler who picked up wickets with the new ball through his seam and swing.
However, he has grown into a proper death bowler with his ability to bowl slower balls and pinpoint land yorkers. He was retained by Rajasthan Royals for INR 4 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 auction.
SRH show batting power in Hyderabad
Meanwhile, it was a breathtaking start from Sunrisers as they started IPL 2025 from where they left the last season. Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head started the innings in a blistering fashion and collected 45 runs for the first wicket in the first three overs.
However, Abhishek was dismissed off the next ball for a well-made 24 off 11 balls. But Head carried on scoring quickly and reached his half-century in style. He scored 67 off just 31 balls with 9 fours and 3 sixes.
No. 3 batter Ishan Kishan showed his explosiveness in his first game while the allrounder Nitish Kumar Reddy slammed a quickfire 30 off just 15 balls.
It was a tough day in the office for RR bowlers as they didn't seem to have any answers to Sunrisers' mighty batting line-up. Even a bowler of Jofra Archer's stature conceded 57 runs in his first three overs while the other overseas seamer Fazalhaq Farooqi gave away 49 runs in his first three overs.
