Watch: Sanju Samson smashes 'out-of-the-park' 110-m six to complete 300 maximums in T20s

Sanju Samson was promoted to number four in the batting order against Zimbabwe in the fifth and final T20I in Harare on Sunday. He did not bat in the fourth T20I and hence was the promotion.

The keeper-batter did not disappoint as he scored a T20I fifty. He batted with intensity and took on the bowlers, especially the spinners. He played some delightful strokes and hit sixes more than fours.

Zimbabwe won the toss and opted to bowl in the fifth and final T20I in Harare. The bowlers responded as well taking three quick wickets. India were 40/3 inside the powerplay. Skipper Sikandar Raza dismissed Yashasvi Jaiswal for 12. He was involved in Shubman Gill's dismissal as well as he took his catch.

Then there was a 65-run stand between Riyan Parag and Sanju Samson. Both hit some big shots in that partnership. The young Parag tried to hit one too many big shots and perished in the process in the process. On the other hand, Samson brought up his second T20I fifty.

In the 12th over of the Indian innings, Samson hit Brandon Mafuta the Zimbabwe leg spinner for a 110-meter six. The third ball of the over was well tossed up and Samson hit the ball with a straight bat and parked it out of the ground.

The shot from Samson was straight out of the middle of the bat as he held the pose for a while. He then hit another six of the very next delivery over covers which is his pet short. He looked very elegant while he played the shot.

Samson who has not taken his chances in T20I cricket with the bat has finally shown his promise and taken his chances. He was finally dismissed in the 18th over of the Indian innings scoring 48 off 44 balls. Blessing Musarabani dismissed him getting him caught at the deep square leg area.

He mistimed the shot as it took the key end of the bat and did not get the distance. Eventually, it was the leggie that caught his catch to send him back to the pavilion. He came running in, took the catch safely and sent him back.

The 110-meter six was also the 300th of his T20 career. He has joined an elite list of Indian batters with over 300 T20 sixes. He joined a list with names like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, KL Rahul, Suresh Raina, and Suryakumar Yadav. Rohit is the leading six-hitter in T20s in the world with 525 sixes to his credit.

Earlier in the game, Zimbabwe won the toss and opted to field first. The leg spinner Brandon Mafuta came in for Tendai Chatara. For India, Mukesh Kumar and Riyan Parag came into the XI.
