Watch: Sarfaraz Ahmed Misses David Warner's Easy Stumping Opportunity, Batsman Rubs Salt On The Wounds
David Warner was given another lifeline in the first test against Pakistan, this time by wicketkeeper Sarfaraz Ahmed who missed out on a clear stumping opportunity. Warner completed his 26th test ton and is still going on having recently crossed the 150-run mark. David Warner has been given a lot of lifelines by Pakistani fielders in the first test which is being played in Perth.
Warner was batting on 141 when he stepped out on Agha Salman’s delivery but ended up missing it. However, to his luck, wicketkeeper Sarfraz Ahmed was not able to collect the ball and the ball went to Babar Azam who was there at the first slip. Babar tried to run him out but his aim was not good enough to get a direct hit at the stumps which led to the ball going towards the long-on region.
Before this whole missed the stumping incident, David Warner was also given lifelines by Khurram Shahzad and Agha Salman who missed a catch and a run-out opportunity respectively. David Warner is playing his 200th inning in test cricket and he has already made it memorable with a brilliant innings. Sarfaraz Ahmed has been good behind the wickets but this missed opportunity might cost his team a lot.

David Warner is playing his last series in red-ball cricket and has performed really well on the very first day. However, Pakistan has not been able to stop the flow of runs and some of the blame should go to their fielding as it has been horrible on the very first day of the first test at Perth. Australia has already crossed the 300-run mark and has lost only four wickets as of now.
After this test, the two teams will move to Melbourne for the ‘Boxing Day’ Test starting on 26th December. The last test of the series will be played in Sydney commencing on 3rd January after the New Year celebrations. The Sydney test will be Warner’s farewell test as the veteran opener has already announced his retirement from red-ball cricket after the completion of the ongoing series.
