It is a day to remember for the likes of Sanju Samson, Chetan Sakariya, Krishnappa Goutham, Nitish Rana and Rahul Chahar as they have become the latest group of cricketers to make their ODI debut for Team India.

With the series already in the bank, the Shikhar Dhawan-Rahul Dravid-led team management have made a whole host of changes in a bid to give opportunities to the youngsters.

As a result, Ishan Kishan, Krunal Pandya, the wrist spin duo of Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav, Deepak Chahar, and veteran seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar are sitting out of the third and final One-day International against Sri Lanka.

The cap presentation ceremony took place minutes before the game in what was a special moment for the debutants.

The BCCI shared the video of the same on its official Twitter handle.

Skipper Shikhar Dhawan presented the ODI cap to Sanju Samson while Nitish Rana received his cap from leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal.

Krishnappa Gowtham received his cap from veteran seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar while Rahul Chahar received his cap from his brother, Deepak.

Meanwhile, Shikhar Dhawan, on Friday, won the toss and decided that India will bat first in the third ODI.

As usual, India have got off to a blazing start to their innings with Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw going hammer and tongs initially.

Dhawan started it off by smashing Dhananjaya for three consecutive boundaries in the 2nd over but the southpaw fell in the very over off Dushmanta Chameera, courtesy of a loose drive outside off-stump.

However, Prithvi Shaw and debutant Sanju Samson have carried on the mantle since then, and at the time of writing, India had rocketed to 1/87 in the 14th over.
