India batter Virat Kohli looked in decent touch with the bat in the ongoing game against Afghanistan in the T20 World Cup 2024. The Super 8 stage game of the tournament between the teams is taking place at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados.

Virat Kohli, who bagged a series a low score ahead of the ongoing game against Afghanistan, looked a lot better than in the last three games and it seemed that he would set the stage on fire in India's first game of the Super 8 stage at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados.

This was quite evident when Virat Kohli recreated his iconic six of the Melbourne Cricket Ground against Haris Rauf during the game against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2022. He hit the shot during the 5th over the ongoing game against Naveen-ul-Haq.

Naveen-ul-Haq bowled a short of a length around off that sat up nicely. Virat Kohli thumped it over the bowler's head and the shot gave the real glimpses of six against Rauf in the previous T20 World Cup down under.

Here's the video:

Virat Kohli after hitting that six got into the shell as he couldn't score runs freely and then got out after having a valiant start. The batter was extremely disappointed with the way he got out and his wicket came as a massive blow for the India National Cricket Team.

Virat Kohli perished Rashid Khan, who bowled a full and quick ball on off stump.v Virat Kohli chipped it straight to Mohammad Nabi at wide long-off. He timed the shot pretty well, but couldn't get enough elevation to clear the fielder stationed near the boundary.

Virat Kohli couldn't play a big innings yet again as he scored 24 runs off 24 balls. He batted with a strike rate of 100 and hit just one-six in his innings. With his wicket, India was left tottering at 62/3 at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados.

After Virat Kohli's wicket, Suryakumar Yadav slams a magnificent half-century

After the wicket of Virat Kohli, India came under more trouble as Shivam Dube (10) too perished after the start. However, after that it was shown by Suryakumar Yadav, who set the stage on fire and made sure that he bailed his team out of trouble, having lost 4 early wickets.

Suryakumar Yadav, who scored a half-century in the last game, continued his golden touch with the bat and slammed another magnificent half-century. He seemed to be batting on different surfaces as he played some gorgeous shots in his innings and made many stand and applaud him.

Suryakumar Yadav ended with an innings of 53 runs off 28 balls. He batted with a strike rate of around 190 and also hit 5 fours and 3 sixes in his innings. His knock ensured that India went past the 150-run Mark at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados.
