SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) batter Abhishek Sharma pulled off a memorable celebration after scoring his first-ever IPL century against Punjab Kings (PBKS). Abhishek flaunted a note from his pocket after reaching his milestone, and Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer's reaction quickly went viral on social media.
Punjab Kings opted to bat first at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Saturday, April 12. Priyansh Arya scored 36 runs off just 13 balls. Shreyas Iyer (82) and Prabhsimran Singh (42) helped the side maintain dominance. Marcus Stoinis added 34 runs off 11 balls as PBKS posted 245 runs.

Thereafter, Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head launched a brutal counterattack that completely dismantled the Punjab Kings' bowling attack. The pair added 83 runs in the powerplay with their aggressive strokeplay and clean hitting.
Sharma enjoyed some luck during the chase, as he survived a no-ball dismissal and a dropped catch by Yuzvendra Chahal. Head smashed 66 off 37 deliveries before falling to Chahal in the 13th over.
Shortly after, Sharma reached his second IPL century in style. He reached the milestone off just 40 balls. The left-handed batter revealed a handwritten note from his pocket that read: "This one is for the Orange Army."

Abhishek Sharma Named Player of the Match for His Heroics
Abhishek Sharma smashed 141 runs off just 55 balls to help the team complete the run chase. He struck 14 fours and 10 sixes at a strike rate of 256.36. SRH successfully chased down a massive 246-run target with more than one over to spare — the second-highest successful chase in IPL history.
Sharma’s knock came after SRH had lost four consecutive matches earlier in the season. The highest successful chase in IPL history came in the previous season when PBKS chased down 262 against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Notably, Shreyas Iyer was the losing captain in both record chases.
Abhishek was named Player of the Match for his heroics. SRH moved to eighth place in the standings after their second win. They will next take on Mumbai Indians (MI), led by Hardik Pandya, on Thursday, April 17 at the Wankhede Stadium.
