Australia’s newly appointed Test vice-captain Steve Smith got stuck in a lift for an hour at a Melbourne hotel on Thursday and he provided all the updates of his stay in the lift through his official Instagram handle.
Star Australian batsman Steve Smith took to Instagram to share news regarding him getting stuck in the lift that ran out of service with him being the only person in it. In the videos shared by Smith his teammate and the No.1 ranked Test batsman Marnus Labuschange was seen trying to help his friend. Labuschagne even offered some chocolates to his mate.
In the series of Instagram stories Steve Smith said:
“I’m on my floor, I’m staying on this level but the doors won’t open.”
“Out of service up there apparently. I’ve tried to get the door open; I’ve got this side open, Marnus (Labuschagne) is on the other side trying to open that to not much avail.
“Not quite the evening I had planned, let’s be honest.”
Not Much Fun Though, Not Really Enjoying It Here – Steve Smith
Steve Smith in a video story asked fans what are the things he can do while being in a lift other than sitting. Also, his mate Labuschagne tried to break into the lift via what appeared to be gym equipment.
“Well, I’m just taking a seat. What else do you do when you’re stuck in a lift? I could be here for a while. Anyone got any suggestions for what I can do”, Smith said.
“Not much fun though, not really enjoying it here,” he added.
After an hour hotel technician finally helped Smith to come out of the lift and his teammates were seen cheering him when he came out.
“Safely back in the room. Finally, out of the lift. That certainly was an experience. 55 minutes I will probably never get back,” Smith said.
