After helping the Australia National Cricket Team win the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, Steve Smith is back in action and is plying his trade in the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL) 2024-25 for Sydney Sixers. He is currently playing the match against Perth Scorchers, currently underway at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney.

Steve Smith has made a staggering return to the Big Bash League and has played a magnificent innings for the Sydney Sixers in the ongoing game against Perth Scorchers. The premier batter who opened the innings oozed his class with the bat and took the team to a massive total.

Smith has been at his animated best while batting. The batter has brought his trademark shots as well and also left many in splits with his gestures while batting. One of the major things that caught the attention of many was the leave that he displayed early on in his innings.

During the 5th ball of the 6th over, Andre Tye got his radar wrong as he bowled full and way down leg. Smith came up with the extravagant leave, and it left many in splits, even commentators, who then started talking about the batter's style of play.

Smith, who is known for playing proper traditional cricketing shots, also played some unorthodox shots in his innings. He attempted to play the scoop as well but failed terribly as well and fell on the ground as well.

Jhye Richardson bowled a 141.7kph, full ball outside off, to which Steve Smith moved across a long way and tumbled as he attempted the scoop shot. Here's the video:

Smith took some time to get going, but once he was in, he hardly put a foot wrong in his innings. The Australia National Cricket Team made the Perth Scorchers bowlers look clueless as he slammed them all over the park and entertained the crowd big time.

Smith first slammed a magnificent half-century and, after that, made sure that he didn't look back. He brought his aggressive best with the bat and made sure that he got as many runs as possible for his team in what is the crucial match in the BBL 2024-25.

Smith raced away to the century in 58 balls. This was his third ton in the history of the Big Bash League and what was even more impressive was the way he made up for the slow start. He made a stand and applauded him for his heroics with the bat.

Smith ended with an innings of unbeaten 121 runs off 64 balls. He batted with a strike rate of over 189 and also slammed 10 fours and 7 sixes. Thanks to his humongous effort with the bat Sydney Sixers posted a massive total of 222 runs on the board.
