Virat Kohli's poor form continued as he was dismissed for another low score during the second innings of the second Test between India and New Zealand at Pune. Kohli was dismissed for 17 by the left-arm spinner Mitchell Santner.
Santner got a length ball to zip quickly off the pitch and Kohli was hit in front of the stumps. The on-field umpire Richard Illingworth quickly raised his finger while Kohli asked for the review. The ball was found to be hitting the outer part of the leg stump and Kohli was declared out.
The star India batter was shocked and looked in complete disbelief. He even fumed at the umpire for not giving the decision in his favor. After waiting for a few seconds, Kohli finally decided to leave.

The crowd was stunned in absolute silence as Kohli went back to the dressing room. It was a big moment in the game and possibly the killer blow to India's chances of turning it around in Pune. While Kohli walked back in disbelief, New Zealand players celebrated knowing the value of his wicket.
Virat Kohli's form a concern
Virat Kohli looked in good form this innings and was set to get a big score. However, his innings was again shortlived by Mitchell Santner, who is having a terrific match. Santner dismissed Kohli for the second time in the match.
The dismissal of Virat Kohli meant another low score for the India legend. He is going through a rough patch of form currently with a string of low scores. His poor form is clearly reflecting on India's performance as well.
India will play a five-match Test series in Australia after the Tests against New Zealand. The Men in Blue will hope that Kohli returns to form and gets back amongst the runs quickly before the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
New Zealand on the brink of historic Test series win
Meanwhile, New Zealand have shown tremendous composure to put India on the brink of a rare Test series defeat at Pune. After winning the first Test with seamers, the visitors adapted well to catch India off-guard with some fine spin bowling.
Mitchell Santner led the way for the Kiwis in this game with figures of 7-53 in the first innings. The experienced left-arm spinner has already picked up a five-wicket haul in the second innings and looks set to add more to his tally.
Indian batters' recent vulnerability against high quality spin bowling was caught here by the New Zealand's spinners. Apart from Yashasvi Jaiswal's second innings score of 77, there was no other significant score for them.
India are 178-7 at Tea on Day 3 with Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin at the crease. New Zealand already lead the series 1-0 after winning the first Test in Bengaluru. They are now in line to create history with their first ever Test series win in India.
