The past few weeks have been amazing for India batter Suryakumar Yadav in his career. The right-hander has done nothing wrong and for all his hard work over the years, he is getting paid rich dividends as there has been a lot of praise about him.

Suryakumar Yadav has been the hero of the Indian team of late. His catch in the final of the T20 World Cup 2024 to remove David Miller was potentially the game-changer. That grab of him tilted the game in India's favour and after that, they went on to win the title by beating opposition by runs.

Suryakumar Yadav then was named as the captain of the Indian T20I team. He pipped Hardik Pandya as he got the backing of the newly appointed coach Gautam Gambhir and the Board of Control for Cricket in India for the role. The team was in need of a new skipper after Rohit Sharma called time on his T20I career.

Hardik Pandya, who was vice-captain of the team in the T20 World Cup 2024, was expected to lead the team as he was performing the role in the absence of Rohit Sharma. But Gautam Gambhir and BCCI didn't favor him, considering his injury history and the workload management.

This made BCCI and Gautam Gambhir pick Suryakumar Yadav as the new captain of the Indian team. The right-hander has been the best T20 batter for the India National Cricket Team. He has been scoring truckloads of runs for the team and won ICC T20I Cricketer of the Year twice in the last two years.

Not only this, but Suryakumar Yadav also captained the Indian team in the absence of Hardik Pandya. He led the team in the T20I series against Australia after the ICC World Cup 2023 and then the South Africa series, winning 5 out of the 7 games that he captained.

Suryakumar Yadav came up with a dazzling Instagram post after being appointed as the T20I captain. He posted a video of himself running on the field, accompanied by the soundtrack from 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, the biopic about India's legendary athlete Milkha Singh with the caption "Giving it all, everyday."

Here's the video:
