The celebration of Team India's victory in the recently-concluded ICC T20 World Cup 2024 is reaching new heights with each passing moment. The victorious Indian team finally landed in the country on Thursday morning and the fans have not squandered a single opportunity to give them a grand welcome.

Even though the team arrived at the IGI airport early in the morning, hundreds of fans lined up outside the airport while braving rain to welcome the World Cup winners. The Indian team met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence in the national capital before leaving for Mumbai to take part in a victory parade.

Vistara Airlines also paid a heartfelt tribute to Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. The call sign that was assigned to the Indian team's Vistara flight was 'UK1845'. The code represents Rohit and Kohli's jersey numbers. Both Rohit and Kohli had announced their retirement from T20Is after the World Cup final. Later, veteran allrounder Ravindra Jadeja retired from T20Is as well.

And even before the Indian team could step out of the Vistara flight in Mumbai, the airline came up with another special gesture. As soon as the flight landed at the airport, the Indian team was given a spectacular water salute. The video of the special moment has gone viral on social media.

Team India will be taking a victory parade from the Marine Drive to the iconic Wankhede Stadium on an open-top bus. Thousands of fans were already on the streets even before the Indian team's arrival. The Wankhede Stadium is fully packed as well. After the parade, the BCCI will be felicitating the Indian team in the stadium.

India team's dream run in T20 World Cup:

Team India won the T20 World Cup 2024 in a very dominating fashion. They did not lose a single game in the competition. In the group stage, India defeated Ireland, Pakistan, and the USA while their game against Canada was abandoned due to a wet outfield.

In the Super 8s, India defeated Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Australia. It was followed by a 68-run win over defending champions England in the semifinal before the Men in Blue beat South Africa by 7 runs in the final in Barbados. The win ended India's long wait for an ICC trophy as well as the T20 World Cup.
