Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi consoled Indian players in the dressing room after their loss to Australia in the ICC World Cup 2023 final. Modi met all the Indian players and had a chat with them. He also praised them for their wonderful performance in the tournament.
Team India lost the ICC World Cup 2023 final to Australia by 6 wickets. In the final, the Pat Cummins-led side chased down the 241-run target with ease with a century by Travis Head. Australia clinched their 6th ODI World Cup trophy after defeating India.

After the match, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the Indian players in the dressing room. He consoled the players after the defeat and encouraged them. He had chats with Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, and Rahul Dravid among others. Have a look at the video below.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah were present at the Narendra Modi Stadium during the match. Earlier, the Indian PM also handed the trophy to Australia captain Pat Cummins.
Meanwhile, the hearts of millions of Indian fans were shattered after Team India faced a defeat in the final of the ICC World Cup 2023. Australia outplayed Team India in both departments to win the match.

Notably, Team India was the most dominating side in ICC World Cup 2023. During the league stage, they outplayed every other team to top the points table. In the semi-final against New Zealand, they posted a mammoth 397-run total to clinch another lopsided victory.
Australia were also a dominating side. After losing the first two matches in the tournament, they won nine back-to-back 9 matches including the final. Australia peaked at the right time and stunned India in the final.
Team India will next face Australia in a five-match T20I series at home. The series commences on Thursday, November 23 with the first match in Visakhapatnam.
