Tilak Varma showed great maturity and played a stunning knock of 69* runs off 53 balls. He received great support from Shivam Dube, Sanju Samson, and Rinku Singh in helping India win the match.

Notably, Tilak Varma's strike rate wasn't very high because he played according to the situation, and it was important for him to remain in the middle till the end. He reached the half-century milestone off 41 balls, and after completing the feat, he pointed towards India written on his jersey and then passed on a salute to the Indian Armed Forces.

That was not it, as Tilak Varma also pulled an aggressive celebration after Rinku Singh hit the winning runs for India. The entire Indian camp was filled with joy while Pakistan skipper Salman Agha was seen with tears in his eyes.

Pakistan fail to capture the 3rd Asia Cup title - Men In Green's Asia Cup-winning history

Team Pakistan won their first Asia Cup title back in the year 2000 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Facing a strong Sri Lankan side in the summit clash, Pakistan delivered a good performance. Saeed Anwar, Inzamam-ul-Haq, and Moin Khan hit brilliant half-centuries to help their side post a competitive total on the board.

While defending, Pakistan's bowling attack was disciplined and effective and they managed to bowl Sri Lanka out for 238 to win the game by 39 runs. Moin Khan won Player of the Match in the final while Mohammad Yousuf won the Player of the Series. That Asia Cup victory occurred during a period when Pakistan were riding high from their successful 1992 World Cup campaign.

Then, they had to wait for over a decade to get their hands on the second Asia Cup trophy as their title drought ended in 2012. Pakistan faced Bangladesh in the final in Mirpur and were challenged by the Bangla Tigers.

Batting first, Pakistan posted 236/9 on the board, with key contributions from Shahid Afridi and Sarfaraz Ahmed from down the order. Bangladesh fought hard in the chase, with standout performances from Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan.

However, Pakistan’s bowlers, particularly Aizaz Cheema and Saeed Ajmal took wickets at crucial junctures to restrict Bangladesh to 234/8 to register a stunning 2-wicket victory.
