Indian batter Tilak Varma, too, showed a high game spirit as he ran a double on the second-to-last delivery of the 20th over to facilitate the team total despite having missed his personal milestone of another T20 half-century by a whisker.
The Indian team are currently engaged in their final Super-4 game against Sri Lanka. The Lankans have been knocked out of the race for the Asia Cup finals. India won the first two games and then went straight into the finals, while Pakistan awaits them for the final clash on Sunday.
This is the first time in this Asia Cup that any team has gone past 200; however, despite a solid batting performance just before the finals, India might not be able to retain their winning streak.
Tilak Varma's selfless act in the Asia Cup match wins hearts
Indian star Tilak Varma batted throughout the middle phase of the Indian innings and stood unbeaten till the last over. Tilak provided a semblance to the Indian innings alongside other fellow batters.
When the left-hander Axar Patel slashed the second-to-last ball of the 19th over to the deep extra cover fielder, the two Indian batters ran two runs quickly. Tilak Varma was then on 49*, and if he could have faced the final ball, he could have definitely gotten to his half-century.
However, the batter chose to favour the Team's total over his personal milestone, which has helped him gather immense praise from Indian fans, while some legends have been slammed, drawing comparisons with the batter.

Tilak shines with his knock
After Abhishek Sharma gave India a stunning start on another occasion, India needed someone to play a subtle yet quick T20 innings in the middle phase. Captain Suryakumar Yadav once again got out early, and then it was upon Tilak Varma to provide semblance to the Indian innings.
Tilak first joined Sanju Samson for putting on a half-century partnership and then later joined hands with Axar Patel to add some quick runs down the order. Tilak finished on a well-fought 49* off just 34 balls, with four fours and a six.
India lacking finishers down the order
Though the Indian team has been winning matches in this Asia Cup, they have had a serious crisis of proper finishes. In most of the games, the lower order could not hand quickfire finishes to the Indian side.
Hardik Pandya got out early on several occasions, while Axar Patel, too, has failed to be as promising a finisher, since he could not provide massive finishes to the team. Shivam Dube, who was also cited as the frontline Indian finisher, has failed massively with the bat.
This might call for Rinku Singh's return to the Indian side, since the seasoned finisher has missed the chance to feature in India's Playing XI for the Asia Cup. However, to sort their finishing woes, he might be backed for the Australia series.
