Varun Chakravarthy returned with the figures of 2/22 CSK

Varun Chakravarthy came up with the two crucial wickets for his team. The mystery spinner first removed Vijay Shankar, who scored 29 runs, and also sent Deepak Hooda packing for a four-ball duck to return with the figures of 2/22 in the four overs that he bowled.

Varun Chakravarthy looked very threatening with the ball. In what was his home ground, he made sure that he came up with the match-winning effort for his team. Thanks to his brilliant spell, Chennai Super Kings couldn't post a big total on the board at home.

Apart from him, Sunil Narine bagged three wickets. While Harshit Rana (2), Moeen Ali, and Vaibhav Arora also contributed as Kolkata Knight Riders restricted Chennai Super Kings to a total of 103 runs. The visitors then chased the target with the utmost ease as they registered a thumping 8-wicket win.

After the win, Varun Chakaravarthy came up with an eye-catching celebration. He replicated KL Rahul's 'this is my ground' celebration. The mystery spinner was seen gesturing the same and the video went viral.

Narine and Varun Chakravarthy are amazing spinners, they have been for a while now - Moeen Ali

Moeen Ali, who played a vital hand with the ball, talked about his performance, saying that he is trying to keep things tight with the ball. He also hailed Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy, calling them amazing spinners. He said:

"It was nice and having two left-handers helped my case. Just trying to keep it as tight as I can and pick up a couple of wickets, tonight I picked up one, it is nice and Rinku's dive for me to stop that four was big for my confidence. Try not to bowl too quickly, just give time to spin and sometimes it skids, sometimes it spins, I like to keep the shape on the ball and try to spin it.

"They (Narine and Varun) are amazing spinners, they have been for a while now, especially Sunil, if I can bowl a couple of overs up top and set them up in the middle where they are quite hard to hit, I am learning from them and trying to keep up. It (the pitch) was a little bit tacky, you don't need to spin every ball, just one to put the doubt in the batter's mind."
