Watch Virat Kohli And Sai Sudharsan Involved In A Heated Exchange During IPL 2026 Final

An eventful Indian Premier League (IPL) final is going on at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. During the seventh over of the second inning, a Gujarat Titans (GT) fielder had a chat with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star Virat Kohli, who was then at the non-striker’s end.

It is worth noting that the exchange of words between Sudharshan and Kohli was not friendly. From the beginning of the over, the GT player was trying to provoke the batting great.

Sai Sudharshan was trying to provoke Virat Kohli.

At first, Virat, who has seen a lot of these, did not look bothered by Sudharshan’s mind games. As Kohli looked unmoved, Sudharshan continued doing that. Virat had to go straight to the opposing fielder and had some talks between them.

In this match, there are plenty of things happening whenever Mohammed Siraj walks in to bowl. Gujarat Titans are using all their tools to protect their total of 155 in the IPL 2026 final match.

Sai Sudharshan's efforts proved ineffective

However, Sai Sudharshan's effort to enter the mind of Virat seems to go in vain as the batting maestro completed another half-century in his T20 career. Kohli endured only 25 balls to claim the half-century. According to Cricbuzz, it is Virat's fastest fifty in the Indian Premier League. In 2018, he got a half-century against the Rajasthan Royals in only 26 balls, which was the fastest half-century registered by him in league history.

Fastest 50s for Kohli in the IPL (by balls faced)
25 vs GT, Ahmedabad, 2026
26 vs RR, Bengaluru, 2018
26 vs DC, Delhi, 2018
27 vs LSG, Lucknow, 2025

A record-creating 50 for Virat

It is one of the fastest 50s in the IPL final as well. Former Team India and former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batter is still top of the record-list for his 24-ball half-century, which he got against the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the IPL 2010 final at the DY Patil stadium in Mumbai.

Venkatesh Iyer, who is currently an RCB batter, is in third place in this list. When Iyer was with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), he claimed a half-century off 24 balls only against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2024 final in Chennai.

With Virat in the middle, on song, RCB is looking promising enough to retain their title.
